Project Tracker privacy policy
Last updated: November 7, 2026
Project Tracker is a personal Windows desktop app made by Sahdeep Singh and shared with friends and family. This policy explains what data the app handles, where it is kept and what it is used for.
The short version
- Your data stays on PCs in your own home. Project Tracker has no cloud service of its own.
- The developer never receives, sees or stores your data, including your Google data.
- Nothing is sold, shared, used for advertising or used to train AI models.
- Google Calendar is optional, and you can disconnect it at any time.
Data you enter
Projects, to dos, ideas, links, calendar blocks, settings and network map details are stored in a database on the PC you chose to hold your data (the data PC). Your other PCs reach it over your home network using a device key that each PC receives when it is paired. This data does not leave your home network.
Google user data
If you choose Connect to Google Calendar, you sign in with your own Google account on Google's own sign-in page, and Google asks you to approve each permission. Project Tracker asks for the least access it needs:
- See your calendars (calendar.readonly), so the app can show the events from your main Google calendar on its calendar, Today card and Today widget.
- Make its own calendar and manage only that calendar (calendar.app.created), asked for only if you choose "Both ways". The app then creates a calendar named "Project Tracker" in your Google account, and adds, changes and removes your Project Tracker blocks and to dos there. It cannot change any of your other calendars.
How Google data is handled:
- Where it is stored. The events read from Google, and the key that lets the app keep reading them, are stored only on your data PC. The key is encrypted with Windows' own data protection. Nothing is stored on any server run by the developer, because there is none.
- What it is used for. Only to show your events in the app and, if you choose "Both ways", to keep the Project Tracker calendar in step with your blocks and to dos.
- Who it is shared with. No one. The app talks directly between your data PC and Google. Your Google data is never transferred to the developer or any third party, never sold, never used for advertising and never used to train AI or machine learning models.
- How long it is kept. Events from the last 30 days and the next 90 days are kept, and refreshed every few minutes. When you disconnect, the key is revoked with Google and deleted, and every event read from Google is removed from the app.
Project Tracker's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Optional Claude features
If you add your own Anthropic API key, questions you type to Claude in the app are sent to Anthropic's API, together with a short summary of your projects and to dos so Claude can answer. This is optional and uses your own key. Google Calendar data is not sent to Claude.
Removing access and deleting data
- In Project Tracker, open Settings, Google Calendar and click Disconnect.
- You can also remove Project Tracker's access at any time from your Google Account, under Security, Your connections to third party apps and services.
- Uninstalling Project Tracker and choosing to delete your data removes everything it stored on that PC.
